On the weekend of 10th to 11th March 2012 our Sisters Diana and Jacka visited the Polish Cracow. Thanks to the kindness of our Polish brothers they could present, in the Dominican Church of the Most Holy Trinity, the project of the construction of our new monastery, and make a collection for this purpose during each of the ten Sunday Masses. Over 100,000 CZK (4,000 E) were thus collected. We would like to express our deep gratitude our deep gratitude to our Polish brothers and to each of our benefactors.

27th November 2011,
i.e. on the First Sunday of Advent, a benefit concert of the Fenix Group for Chamber and Vocal Music will be held in St. Aegidio church (St. Jiljí, the Dominicans) in the Husova Street in Prague. F. X. Brixi’s Corona Stellarum Duodecim Beatae Mariae Virginis will be performed.  During the concert you can make a contribution for our new monastery. In October 2011
, our Sisters Jacka and Josefa went to Düsseldorf for almost three weeks. In doing so they accepted the invitation of fr. Manuel Merten OP, the Prior of the local Dominican Priory. It was the sisters’ task to make 8 habits for the brothers and to present their project of the new monastery to the believers in the Dominican Church as well as the parish Church. All this brought in a substantial help for our project. In all, 250 thousand CZK (over 10 thousand ) were raised during the visit. We are most grateful to our German brothers, especially fr. Manuel, and to all our benefactors for their great generosity. We assure them all of our prayers.

June 2011
Our project has another patron: Roman Šebrle, excellent Czech athlet, Olympic winner and our neighbour in Lysolaje.

14th September 2010

Dagmar Havel, an actress, former first lady of the Czech Republic and co-founder of the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation Vize 97, accepted patronage over our project of the new monastery. We appreciate very much her interest in our monastery and trust in her rich experience in charity and cultural projects which she is willing to share with us.

31st July 2010
Today, our patron Ing. Arch. Josef Hyzler died, aged 87. We believe he will continue to take personal patronage over our project and pray for us with our heavenly Father. We trusted he would help us with his advice especially in the matter of a good choice of architect for our new monastery, so now we hopefully expect that, on his intercession, God will send us a particularly good one.

3rd June 2010

Advised by the new Archbishop of Prague, a good friend of our community - Fr. Dominik Duka, we have decided to ask several personalities of the public, political and cultural life in the Czech Republic to assume patronage over our project, and so to become 'patrons' of our new monastery. We seek in the first place personalities with whom we feel a certain spiritual and human affinity, supposing they will have an understanding for our vocation and our way of life. During the realization of our project of the new monastery we hope to be able to count on their support, experience and advice. Also, for the public, these persons should stand guarantors for the respectability of our project. To this day, the following persons have responded positively to our plea, deciding to 'adopt us':
  • Mons. Dominik Duka OP, Archbishop of Prague and the Czech Primate
  • Countess Daisy Zdislava Waldsteinova, President of the Czech Maltese Help for years
  • Ing. Arch. Josef Hyzler, former (now Honourable) President of the Old Prague Club
  • Prof. Jiri Kuthan, a historian, Head of the Institute of Christian Art at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Charles University in Prague

  • Others whom we have approached are still considering our plea. We are seeking contacts to others. Further information on our patrons and their collaboration with us will soon to be found here.
